GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A new volunteer-based organization supporting the City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation (GJPR) has been officially founded.

Dedicated to raising funds to support GJPR's projects, scholarships and programs, GJ Plays Foundation aims to promote cooperation among community organizations.

To achieve its primary goal, the organization will provide support to GJPR by: • Promoting collaboration on GJPR programs, capital needs and special projects. • Assisting with donations, grants and gifts to GJPR. • Helping with various events. • Mobilizing GJPR grassroots support and involvement. • Encouraging the community to engage with GJPR.
