A Harrison Bay Future Ready Center teacher is in custody after a fight with a juvenile student at the beginning of the school year.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says they arrested William Fryar, 58, Thursday on a charge of assault stemming from an incident on August 20.

It took place in the hallways of the Future Ready Center .

Deputies responded to the scene that day after getting a call from the school resource officer, according to an affidavit obtained by Local 3 News.

The student said that Fryar "chest bumped" him up against a wall during a fire drill and cursed at him, while the suspect told school admin that he "moved him to the side" so he would not get trampled by the crowd during the fire drill.
