MANSFIELD, La. – Several public bodies are sharing in an $800,000 payment from a company that’s developing a solar farm east of Mansfield.
DESRI promised “community payments” as part of an incentive deal with the DeSoto Parish Police Jury. DESRI is leading construction of a $250 million solar farm at the former Dolet Hills Power Plant site.
The payments were approved Monday by the Police Jury through cooperative endeavor agreements with the various public bodies. The breakdown is based on property tax allocations. Recipients include:
DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office - $96,517
DeSoto Parish School Board - $414,294
Police Jury - $115,601
DeSoto EMS - $51,183
DeSoto Parish Tax Assessor - $18,645
DeSoto 911 - $7,604
DeSoto Fire District 8 - $88,913
DeSoto Parish Water District No. 1 -
