KENNEWICK, Wash. – A crash on Washington Street in Kennewick resulted in the death of a 75-year-old woman Wednesday evening.
The woman, who was crossing the street south of 8th Avenue outside of a crosswalk, was struck by a northbound vehicle, police said in a release.
Despite life-saving efforts by civilians and the Kennewick Fire Department, the woman did not survive.
The Kennewick Police Department (KPD) closed the road until about 9:00 p.m. for investigation.
The driver involved cooperated with authorities, and no alcohol, drugs or speed are believed to have been factors in the collision.
The crash marks the third pedestrian fatality this year in Kennewick where the person was not in a crosswalk.
