ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

A couple was arrested on auto theft charges after a police chase in northwest Albuquerque.

Albuquerque police auto theft detectives were able to locate two known suspects driving a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was found near Eighth Street and Lomas Boulevard NW.

Police detectives were able to identify 32-year-old Andres Ramirez and Rebecca Taylor, 25, inside the vehicle. Both were known to have fled from the Albuquerque Police Department.

This led to spikes being deployed and the stolen vehicle being damaged as it continued to travel east on Interstate 40. Ramirez and Taylor were taken into custody after the vehicle stopped near Second Street and Montaño Road NW.
