TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. —
A man is facing several charges including two counts of kidnapping following a shooting in Transylvania County, North Carolina.
Around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office responded to the 3000 block of Pisgah Highway in the Pisgah National Forest after a shooting was reported.
Deputies quickly found a person of interest, who was detained without incident and taken into custody for questioning.
As of Thursday evening, the victim is in stable condition at Transylvania Regional Hospital.
Deputies said that 26-year-old Joshua Matthew Fortuner of Brevard has been charged with the following:
Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury
