KEWANEE, Illinois (KWQC) - Farmers in Kewanee got behind the wheel, or rather the joystick, when they tested out a combine during a company’s harvest tour in the Midwest.
Fendt’s tour, a manufacturer of agricultural machines, stopped in Farms in Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Minnesota.
In Kewanee on Tuesday, farmers tested the technology by harvesting corn in the Fendt Ideal combine.
“We wanted to take the machines to them. One of the best ways to do that is a tour, let’s go out to the farm, let’s understand their challenges at least, let’s get engaged with them,” said Brandon Montgomery, senior brand manager for Fendt.
Farmers were able to see what it is like not to have a steering wheel in front of them.
