Edashia Caraway of Wisconsin was found dead early Tuesday morning on the Twin Span Bridge.
St. Tammany Coroner Christopher Tape describes her death as a hit-and-run homicide.
Her sister said Caraway was in New Orleans for her birthday, attending the NBA YoungBoy concert, and now leaves behind a 5-year-old son.
Her hotel room in New Orleans is being processed for evidence, and a sexual assault nurse conducted an exam to piece together exactly what happened.
State police are asking anyone with information to call 985-893-6250.
