(KRON) -- The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that an ongoing homicide investigation in Bay Point has landed one suspect in custody.

CCCSO said detectives responded to the undisclosed location at 11:25 a.m. for a report of a "medical police call."

CCCSO said more details will be released at a later time but has confirmed the incident involved a male victim.

"A person was taken to the hospital where he later died," said the sheriff's office in an update posted on social media at 4:56 p.m.
