Itanagar, Oct 23: An awareness-cum-training programme on mushroom cultivation was organised today by the CSIR–North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Branch Itanagar at its premises.

The programme was attended by around 50 BSc and MSc students along with two faculty members from the Department of Forestry, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli. The visiting student group was led by Dr Mihir R Panda and Dr G Ranibala, Assistant Professors, Department of Forestry, NERIST.

Dr Chandan Tamuly, Sr Principal Scientist and in-charge, CSIR-NEIST Branch Itanagar, briefed the students about the institute’s ongoing research and development activities, student facilities, and various societal initiatives undertaken by the organisation.
