A Frederick man who pleaded guilty in August to two criminal charges related to homemade explosives was ordered on Tuesday to serve three years in prison.
John Timothy Lightfield, 20, was arrested in April after the Office of the State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad, Maryland State Police and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on his apartment on Willow Avenue and found supplies of black powder, potassium nitrate and several PVC pipes, The Frederick News-Post reported at the time.
