The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet posted this week that there will be no Christmas open house this December at the Whitehaven Welcome Center.

Whitehaven remains closed since September for ongoing maintenance work. The office is closed, and tours of the house are not available.

The lobby is still open for vending machines, maps and restrooms.

The exterior of the welcome center will be decorated for the holidays.

Whitehaven is the only historic home in the U.S. serving as a welcome center.
