After months of bullying and harassment in the Navy, Kate had enough.
Her boss had made it very clear that he wanted to "break" her, she says.
But nothing could prepare her for the response she got when she finally stood up to him. Loading...
"I said to him, 'You're not going to get what you want from me, it's not going to happen. You can try as hard as you want ... but I'm not going to let you win'," she says.
" And he's like, 'You will, because we rape women. We take women out the back and rape women like you, so that you follow the rules'. "
It wasn't the first or the last time Kate would experience sexual harassment or assault in the workplace.
