DECORAH, Iowa (KCRG) - Decorah Parks and Recreation celebrated the groundbreaking of a new athletic complex Thursday.
Plans include baseball diamonds, batting cages and pickleball courts. The goal is to have at least one field ready to play on by spring.
“It’s important for the kids, for the youth of Decorah both boys and girls to have a place to play and compete with the various teams and various age groups of baseball and softball and pickleball also,” said Recreation board chairman Rich Gaard.
The project has raised over $1 million from community support and state grants.
