A 49-year-old felon from Kauai is charged with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon following a 15-hour standoff Tuesday.
Robert Melvin Morris is in custody at the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu.
Morris was charged by federal criminal complaint Wednesday with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, using a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, according to federal court records.
On Tuesday at about 9 a.m., U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents, backed by Honolulu Police Department officers and state Sheriff’s deputies, executed a federal search warrant in the Kapahulu neighborhood.
