New Delhi: The Delhi government has announced a major policy change allowing women to work night shifts in shops and offices. However, written consent from the female employees will be required. Meanwhile, women won’t be permitted to work in liquor stores at night. Facilities like security, transportation, and CCTV have been made mandatory by the government for commercial establishments.

The Delhi guidelines says that women who work overtime will receive double payment, and it will be mandatory for every commercial establishments to form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for women’s safety as per the POSH Act (Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal).
