Police fired shots at a U-Haul truck that backed into them at the entrance of U.S. Coast Guard Base Alameda in California, local CBS affiliate KPIX reported, where protests had broken out earlier in the day against planned federal immigration enforcement action in San Francisco.

It was not clear if anybody was hurt or detained, KPIX reported, though witnesses say two people were struck by the vehicle.
