Saint Francis Hospital announces free mammogram event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Saint Francis Hospital announced its annual PinkLink free mammogram event recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The hospital will host the PinkLink event Saturday, October 25, offering free screening mammograms for underinsured and uninsured women at the Karl J. Krapek, Sr. Comprehensive Women’s Health Center from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In the United States, 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, according to the hospital.

The free mammogram events support Saint Francis’ mission to ensure equitable health care services regardless of geographic location, socioeconomic circumstances, or insurance status.

The program launched in 2012 and has provided over 400 free mammograms for women in the local community in the last five years.
