MINOT, N.D. (KXNET) — As December’s Wreaths Across America Ceremony Day approaches, the Civil Air Patrol Magic City Composite Squadron, along with community volunteers are gearing up for an opportunity for all ages: The Planting of the Crosses.
At 10 a.m. this Saturday, October 25th, preparations to honor Minot’s fallen heroes will begin at Rosehill Cemetery in Minot.
In December, wreaths will be hung at the graves of each of our fallen soldiers, but first, metal crosses are planted at the gravesites of veterans before the North Dakota ground freezes. The crosses serve as anchors for the red and green wreaths that will be placed in December’s WAA Ceremony to Remember, Honor and Teach.
