Sittingbourne Library will soon close to the public as extensive improvement works get underway. The facility in Central Avenue will shut its doors on Monday, November 3 to allow Kent County Council (KCC) to upgrade the site.
Alongside a general refurbishment of the library, the planned improvement works include the introduction of new family hub services for the community to make use of. These will allow parents to stop by to find support advice and group activities for children, alongside attend health visit appointments.
New furniture will be brought to the library, while the layout will be refreshed, as part of KCC’s effort to create “a more comfortable and flexible space for reading, studying, registering a birth or death and community activities”. It is expected the library will
