TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson Police Department released new information about a crash that killed a pedestrian October 24.

The TPD says the crash happened in the 5500 block of East Valencia Road.

27-year-old Joshua Brown died at the scene.

Detectives say Brown tried to walk south across the eastbound lanes of traffic on East Valencia Road from the median. He was hit by the driver, who was traveling east on Valencia Road in the median lane.

The driver was traveling at 50 MPH when the crash occurred, which is the speed limit in that area.

Police say Brown was not in a marked or implied crosswalk when he was hit.

A Tucson Police Department officer evaluated the driver for impairment and determined he was not impaired at the time of the crash.
