Sachin Sanghvi, one half of the popular music composer duo Sachin–Jigar, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after promising her work in a music album and marriage, police said on Friday. The arrest took place on October 23, and he was released on bail shortly afterward.

According to news agency PTI, the complainant alleged that it was Sachin who first contacted her last year by sending a direct message on Instagram. He reportedly promised her work in his music album, after which they exchanged phone numbers, a police official said. The woman was later invited to his music studio, where he allegedly proposed to her. The composer is also accused of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions. He was taken into custody after the woman filed a complaint with the police.
