New Delhi, Oct 24: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has launched a large-scale plantation and sapling distribution drive in Mangaluru, India, in line with the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam-2.0” initiative.

The campaign, launched by the Prime Minister on World Environment Day 2024, encourages citizens to plant a tree in honor of their mother to strengthen India’s green cover and promote environmental stewardship.

The initiative has planted over 80 crore saplings nationwide, achieving the annual target ahead of schedule. The second phase, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0,” will involve schools, Eco Clubs, and local communities.
