A Fairbanks man was sentenced to 39 years in prison after being found guilty for the 2022 murder of a man in downtown Fairbanks.

Superior Court Judge Brent Bennett set the sentence for Matthew Lee Myers, 45, to 29 active years, with the rest suspended. In addition, he will receive 10 years probation.

Myers was convicted in June on three counts of felony second-degree murder, one count of felony second-degree weapons misconduct, four counts of felony third-degree assault, and misdemeanor reckless endangerment after shooting and killing Rolando Khaleel Pressley, 29, on May 6, 2022, on Cushman Street in downtown Fairbanks.

The three murder counts were consolidated, with Bennett setting it at 35 years, with 10 years suspended. Myers received another two years for the weapons misconduct and
