LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles announced a significant change this week that impacts anyone registering a vehicle.

As of Oct. 22, 2025, all new registrations, registration renewals, titling, and movement permits must be initiated online through MyDMV or DriveNV before visiting an office.

“We realize that not every transaction can be completed online,” said Laney. “However, if we are able to redirect the majority of people to go online, it makes a significant impact on reducing wait times and improving access for those who need in-person services.”

Since July, the DMV has processed more than 192,000 vehicle transactions at the office, most of which were registration renewals.
