ESCANABA, MI – A large fire that gave off a dark plume of smoke prompting air quality concerns may also have caused dirty water in Escanaba, city officials said.
The fire broke out Thursday afternoon at Race Ramps, a vehicle ramp manufacturing plant on 20th Avenue North. The local emergency manager issued a hazardous materials warning because the smoke could carry particles from industrial-grade plastic.
