TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Tuscaloosa County Health Department invited the public to a drive-thru clinic, making it easy for people to prepare for this flu season.

It’s late October and flu season has already started, so health officials in Tuscaloosa County encouraged people who hadn’t been vaccinated to come get it done with them.

Staff call this one of their most important community events of the year, which they hold in their parking lot.

People who came to get vaccinated for the flue never had to leave their car.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends everyone six months or older get vaccinated every flu season. Children six months old through the age of eight many need two doses.

It takes around two weeks for protection to develop after a person has been vaccinated.
