MINNEAPOLIS — Four residents are displaced after an overnight fire on the north side of Minneapolis that also saw a police presence after reports of a shooting nearby.
Fire crews were dispatched just after 10:45 p.m. to a multi-unit residence near the intersection of North 33rd Avenue and North Penn Avenue in the Cleveland neighborhood after reports of a fire. Firefighters rescued four residents from the building while crews battled flames jumping from an apartment on the first floor.
The scene was extra chaotic as squads from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) arrived to check out a shots fired call just 500 feet from the fire location.
On Friday afternoon, MPD confirmed that officers were called to North Memorial Medical Center after a man in his 30s arrived with a gunshot wound.
