BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho — A 47-year-old Pocatello man died early Friday morning following a single-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 15 in Bannock County, according to the Idaho State Police (ISP).
The crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. near milepost 70. The driver, operating a Mitsubishi 3000 GT, veered to the right, struck the guardrail, went over it, and collided with the Monte Vista overpass pillar.
The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Two of the three northbound lanes of I-15 were blocked for three hours for cleanup. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
