A woman has been awarded a gold medal in the Police Public Bravery Awards for courageously pulling a trapped driver and passenger out of a burning car in South Lanarkshire.
Karen Dunnet, 54, came across the crash on a rural road near Dolphington back in August 2023, where she managed to pull both people to safety. Both the driver and passenger were taken to hospital for treatment after the accident.
Now, Karen is one of four Scots who were recognised at the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s annual Police Public Bravery Awards in a ceremony that took place in Sheffield last night, Thursday, October 23.
