In its biggest game of the season so far, Battle Ground came through with a win that defied two decades of history.

The Tigers kept their postseason hopes alive with a 35-21 win over Skyview at Kiggins Bowl.

It’s also just the second time Battle Ground has beaten Skyview in 25 matchups, the only other coming in 2004. That 20-game losing streak to the Storm was the longest between any two Southwest Washington schools in the last 100 years.

Friday’s win also puts the Tigers in prime position to earn one of the 4A Greater St. Helens League two postseason berths. Battle Ground (4-4) is 1-1 in league play behind only first-place Camas heading into the season’s final game.
