Two men police say are connected to a bank robbery in Mount Pearl nine months ago are now facing charges.

On Jan. 13, police officers responded to the aftermath of a robbery where an excavator ripped into the corner of a Royal Bank of Canada location on Commonwealth Avenue, destroying the side of the building and leaving behind piles of debris.

The perpetrators made off with an ATM and left the excavator at the scene.

On Friday morning, the RNC announced charges had now been laid in connection to the theft.

A 30-year-old man is facing six counts, which includes breaking and entering, theft of a motor vehicle, theft and mischief over $5,000, possession of property obtained by a crime and breach of probation.
