In the span of just a few seconds last Saturday, Cade McConnell illustrated what Vanderbilt football is all about this season.
The left guard delivered not just one but two pancake blocks — smashing a pair of LSU defensive linemen to the turf — in rapid succession during a single pass protection rep. He finished matters off by diving onto the second of his flattened foes like a WWE grappler.
“It’s up there with the all-timers,” Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea said earlier this week.
“This is about playing with an attitude and an edge, about seeking opportunities to be physical. Those are things that define our program, and obviously Cade was a representation of that in that snap.”
It seems only fitting that McConnell’s double decker block has gone viral in the week leading up to No. 10
