CLEVELAND, Ohio – It’s time to get outside, Ohio. Peak fall color is here, or nearly so.

The latest fall color update from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources shows peak conditions in about half of the state, including Northeast Ohio. The rest is considered “near peak.”

“Everything is close,” said David Parrott, a forester with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. “I think anywhere in the state, this week and next week is going to be the time to see fall colors.”

This year’s color season has been unusual, he said, due to dry conditions and above-average temperatures early in the fall, which caused some trees to change early and others late.
