When Hadush Kebatu was jailed for assaulting a woman and a 14-year-old girl near the Bell Hotel in Essex, the judge said he posed a “significant risk of reoffending”.

But when he was supposed to be sent for deportation he was freed by mistake.

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy who is also the Justice Secretary, said he’s appalled and has ordered an investigation while police track the prisoner down.
