PHOENIX — A woman has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened Friday morning in Phoenix.

Police say 24-year-old Michelle Guzman-Garcia allegedly hit a man who was crossing the street near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road just before 6 a.m. on Friday.

Guzman-Garcia allegedly stopped, exited her car and then got back into the vehicle to leave, according to Phoenix police.

The car was gone by the time officers arrived in the area. The man, identified as 32-year-old Miguel Alteres, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Guzman-Garcia is facing felony hit-and-run charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
