DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has been charged with the murder of 28-year-old Abdul-Jalil Burnette in Durham.

On Thursday, the Durham Police Department arrested Khalil Hosch, 25. He's charged with shooting and killing Burnette on Oct. 15 at a bus stop outside the Wellons Village shopping center on N. Miami Blvd.

In addition to murder, Hosch was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed weapon at the time of his arrest. He was also served with an outstanding warrant for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

The shooting that ended Burnette's life was the aftermath of an argument over a cell phone, according to family members who spoke to CBS 17.
