In a decisive move during Tuesday’s City Council meeting, nearly all of Porterville’s councilmen voted to officially withdraw the city from its membership in the League of California Cities, commonly known as CalCities. The decision came after a robust discussion on the benefits, costs, and future implications of the city’s continued participation in the organization.
