BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - One person was killed and two others injured after a pickup truck crashed into a semi on U.S. 67 Friday morning, police say.

Three people in a pickup truck, a 43-year-old woman, a 41-year-old man and a 9-year-old child were in a pickup truck that hit a semi, according to Bettendorf officials.

The 43-year-old woman died at the scene, the 9-year-old was airlifted to Iowa City and the 41-year-old man was taken to a local hospital, city officials said.

Crews responded to the two-vehicle crash in the 6800 block of State Street about 8:30 a.m., according to a media release.

Police and firefighters learned a pickup truck hit a semi-trailer truck as the semi was leaving a business turning onto State Street, officials said.

The semi driver was not injured, police said
