EVERETT, Mass. —
Authorities are investigating a deadly crane collapse in Everett, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon that killed one and injured another.
The collapse occurred in the area of Rover St, on Island End near the now-defunct power plant.
Everett Fire Chief John Hickey says one person is deceased and a second person was transported to the hospital. Their condition remains unknown.
The identity of the deceased person is not being released at this time.
Hickey did not say whether or not the two people were inside the crane at the time of the collapse.
Sky5 video shows the crane lying horizontally across the dock with multiple police and fire apparatus on scene. Mayor Carlo DeMaria said crews were working to dismantle the former Exxon site.
