The World Series is set to begin on Friday night with a matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers as the latter searches for its second straight championship and third since 2020.
Game 1 is at Rogers Centre in Toronto, and despite the World Series returning to Canada for the first time since 1993, when the Blue Jays captured the second world championship in franchise history, it will be an American act performing the national anthems before the game.
Pharrell Williams is set to make an on-field performance at Rogers Centre ahead of first pitch alongside the Voices of Fire, a choir group that hails from Williams' hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia. After the performance, the Voices of Fire will perform both "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "O Canada," the countries' respective national anthems.
First pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET in Toronto, and pregame coverage on Fox begins at 7 p.m. The Dodgers are seeking their ninth World Series title, while the Blue Jays look for their third and the first since winning back-to-back in 1992 and 1993.
