MANSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Mansfield Fire and Emergency Services welcomed its deputy chief home after he was released from the hospital on Thursday following Tuesday's alpaca farm fire.
Mansfield Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Danielson sustained burns when he ran into the house fire on Tuesday evening and successfully rescued two people inside, according to state police.
The fire broke out at an alpaca farm in Mansfield, where a 79-year-old woman died from injuries related to the fire.
Two other firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation or other minor injuries after the fire.
