SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Western Massachusetts communities will have the opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescription medications on Saturday, during the 29th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a biannual event where local police departments, hospitals, and pharmacies collect millions of unused and expired medications. This year, nearly 4,000 law enforcement agencies across the country are partnering with the DEA to hold collection sites.
