BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This Saturday, one simple action can help prevent an opioid addiction.

On Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will allow community members to discard prescription drugs that may be left in their medicine cabinets.

According to a release by the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, the “majority of opioid addictions in America start with prescription pills found in medicine cabinets at home.”

The task force says it will be taking part in this campaign for the 16th year.

Officials say the service will be free and anonymous, with no questions asked. Needles and syringes will not be accepted for disposal, official say.
