BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Early Friday, the Burley Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home park for a blaze described as “incredibly hot and fast.” The fire destroyed two homes and severely damaged another, according to a Facebook post from the department.
When crews arrived, one mobile home was engulfed in flames and the fire was spreading. A neighboring home burned as firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent further spread. Additional crews responded, with the second bringing a water tender. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene. Several vehicles were also destroyed.
One person died and 16 other residents are displaced. Families are receiving assistance from the Burley Firefighters Local 3308 Burnout Fund and the Red Cross.
