MERIDEN, Connecticut — After being sentenced in Meriden Superior Court on Friday, an East Haven woman will spend five years in prison for her role in a deadly crash.
Denise Lucibello pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence. Police said she was impaired when she hit and killed a state Department of Transportation worker, Andrew DiDomenico, on the side of Interstate 91 in Wallingford on June 28, 2024.
It was an emotional day in court during sentencing, for both Lucibello and the family of DiDomenico.
One by one, multiple members of DiDomenico's family addressed the room and pleaded with the judge to consider their loss when delivering a sentence.
