West Hartford’s first roundabout at the intersection of King Philip Drive and Old Meadow Road now has a change to help drivers navigate the new traffic pattern.
The town placed orange barrels along the perimeter of the roundabout on Thursday. It’s designed to be a temporary solution to prevent drivers from crossing the center circle, while attempting to allow buses and trucks to drive over part of the center island.

The mini roundabout’s flat design is intended to allow large vehicles to be able to pass through the tighter turn.
However, when the roundabout first opened, some drivers failed to navigate it properly.
