Tropical Storm Melissa is barely moving in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. The storm has winds near 65 mph and is moving slowly N at 2 mph.
Melissa is expected to move west this weekend followed by a turn toward the north toward Jamaica and could make landfall over the island on Tuesday. Advertisement
Melissa is still fighting some wind shear, which makes it harder for it to organize. However, this weekend the wind shear will lower while the storm remains over warm water which will allow Melissa to become a hurricane and could rapidly intensify to a major hurricane as it nears Jamaica.
