The Pittsburgh Inn, Erie's oldest family restaurant, marked the end of an era under the ownership of Robin and Tom Weunski after 18 years on Friday night.
The Weunskis have been at the helm of the 101-year-old establishment, known for its strong community ties and support for the military. Their retirement comes as new owners prepare to take over the beloved local institution.
"It has been an incredible experience being the innkeepers of the oldest family restaurant in Erie," said Robin Weunski, reflecting on their years of work and community involvement.
For many patrons, The Pittsburgh Inn was more than just a place to eat; it was a community hub. The Weunskis' son joining the military inspired them to start sending care packages to troops overseas, an effort that was warmly embraced
