WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Family and friends of Trevon Stewart are demanding justice after the 32-year-old was shot and killed Thursday night in Glen Dey Park (commonly known as Grove Park, in the 2800 block of North Grove) .
The shooting happened during a youth football game that drew 200 to 300 people, Wichita police said. Stewart wasn’t directly involved with the game but was there to sell concessions for a youth football team he coaches.
Those close to Stewart remember his dedication to kids he coached and his treatment of others.
“He treated everybody like they was family,” said Stewart’s brother, Dwight Scott. “He always had your back, he was a good role model.”
Stewart’s family said they’re heartbroken and are trying to understand why someone would want to kill him, especially
